Book Haul Vlog, or the One with the Truth About London

Yes, that's a Friends reference in my blog title, and no, I have no London truth. I just wanted to reference Friends.

Anyway, I bought things this week, though I shouldn't have, and I'll probably buy more while in London, which I shouldn't do. Whatever. IT'S LONDON, BABY!

Books mentioned:

Crown of Midnight by Sarah J. Maas
The Diviners by Libba Bray
Seraphina by Rachel Hartman

Reached by Allie Condie
Dangerous Girls by Abigail Haas
Behemoth by Scott Westerfield
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them by J.K. Rowling
All Our Yesterdays by Cristin Terrill

The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman
I Capture the Castle by Dodie Smith

If only I could buy Marry Poppins' carpet bag, so I could somehow get all these home.

  1. Okay so I don't know if I am more jealous of your books or your vacation. I don't even know what to say about the book haul. I do have Dangerous Girls on my TBR and I'm HOPING to be able to read it at some point.

  2. The episodes where friends goes to London is the BEST.

Your ipod is so much more audible! Of course now the video won't load. GRRRRAAAAAR.

    BOOKSHOP EVERY BLOCK!

Be careful with your UK cover, bc Bekka said the title was rubbing off or something.

Also, YAY FOR PAPERBACKS. I love trade paperbacks so much more than hardbacks.

Bleh to the purple Seraphina. The original color scheme is so much better. And the UK is great.

You're going to tote your tote bag? That is totes awesome!

I want to fall in love in Waterstone's. Why am I not in a novel? SIGH.

BLEH MATCHED SERIES. The UK Dangerous Girls is SO MUCH BETTER. Handcuffs in the saaaand! With flowers. The UK Behemoth is crazy! Look at it! The UK All Our Yesterdays cover is the worst. I do like textures.

You sounded southern saying 1790. WEIRD.

BAHAHA imaginary money in your fantasy world. Okay, dear.

I do not like the illustrated cover of Graveyard Book. NOOOOOO. Do not like.

Ahhhhh! That I Capture the Castle cover! I have the like original version and it's ugly, but awesome in its oldness.

    BUY MORE!

Macarons do not look very delicious. I don't know.

Wow you got some awesome books, especially Crown of Midnight! I can't wait to read it :0)

    Happy reading!

  4. I ADORED All Our Yesterdays. Christina didn't love it as much. So I'm curious to see who you're with!

When I went to London I got so mad that the group I was with wouldn't let me go book store hopping.

Ah! CROWN OF MIDNIGHT! <3 I do love that.

And that pb of Seraphina is gorgeous. I love it more than my hardcover of the book in all honesty.

I can't wait for you to come home so we can text again but gah! I'm happy your loving London and the first hotel you booked by yourself!

  5. Ummm, how have I never visited the book stores on purpose while I've been in London. I feel like I fail on so many levels, that I just can't even. Though I do tend to get a paperback on every trip I go on. So I have lots of UK additions of random books! Good Lord, I miss that place and it's awesome that you're traveling around by yourself. Sadly, none of my musician pals are playing there this week. Actually let me double check and I'll let you know!

  7. Friends reference FTW! I love you for that. I'm also 100,000 times more jealous that you're in London than Spain since I've wanted to visit London pretty much my entire life. *sigh* I haven't read any of these BUT I do own The Diviners (with the hardcover North American cover, but the UK cover is beautiful!). One reason I love The Book Depository: they often have the UK covers available for certain books, so if I like it better than the North American one, I'll order that. I hope you don't have too much trouble hauling your millions and millions of books home, but I'm sure it'll be worth it (and the spending of imaginary vacation money will be worth it too). ;-)

  8. The UK cover of The Diviners is THE BEST oh my gosh!! Why are UK covers always so much better?!
...seven stories of books? O_O oh my gosh. Well. I know what I'm doing if I ever make it to London.
Geeze, the cover of Dangerous Girls is awesome too! That looks like something I would pick up. The handcuffs in the sand looks like a bad Indie novel.
I... have never read I Capture the Castle. Terrible. I know.
Hope you have a lovely end to your vacation!

  9. CROWN OF MIDNIGHT! *tosses confetti* That's a book I'm always going to want to buy a copy of, just because. ALL MY CHAOL FEELS. Ahem. Moving on, Seraphina! That's a good book too, particularly if you're fond of dragons like me. And I really liked All Our Yesterdays too! Enjoy your amazing book haul :)
